Star of Bethlehem quilt
Star of Bethlehem quilt
This is such a beautiful traditional pattern - the Star of Bethlehem quilt. In this version, I hand-dyed the fabrics, and they are absolutely stunning, so vibrant and true especially set against the black background.
Out of hundreds of quilt patterns, the Star of Bethlehem is one of the most recognizable, emerging at the turn of the 19th century in North America. A pieced quilt consisting of a single eight-pointed star, it is comprised of hundreds of diamond pieces of fabrics arranged concentrically so as to radiate from the centre out to the tips. It is challenging but very satisfying to make.
This quilt is quilted by hand.
