Some of the old-timey Log Cabin quilts seem so drab to me. All that work to use up brown strips of fabric! Gah.
My nod to the tradition of the Log Cabin quilt is the red “hearth” square, symbolizing the fire at the heart of the home. Making it extra special, I’ve used red velvet for the hearth square in this vibrant log cabin. Strips of pink, coral, orange, and fuschia contrast with the blackest black.
This quilt looks great warming up a wall or tossed artfully at the end of your bed ready to come to the rescue when it’s chilly.
